Writers for Readers

Now in its ninth year, Writers for Readers is the Orange County Literacy Council’s capstone annual event.

In this celebration of literacy and great literature, the Council brings together celebrated local and national authors for an evening of readings, festivity, and increased awareness about literacy issues. Featured authors have included Pulitzer Prize winners, National Book Award finalists, and New York Times bestsellers, as well as immediately recognizable names like Roy Blount Jr., Dorothy Allison, Kim Sunee, and John Grisham.

All proceeds from Writers for Readers benefit the Orange County Literacy Council. As the Council’s largest fundraising event, Writers for Readers makes a significant contribution, helping to ensure the delivery of services and furthering the Council’s mission–to create a community where will literacy is available to all.
